Edit: Sorry for spamming! I just think not everyone realized this was a comic :'D so I changed the preview image haha

Oh yea, so btw-- just in case-- you click enter to start reading, then you can tap right/left keys to scroll through, or click with mouse as well!

Aaanywaysss, heeyy guyssss-- this is what I was working on basically through the month of September for that shonen jump manga contest ouo*+*+* As expected I didn't even come close to the quality that I saw in the 6 finalists that were just announced in the beginning of December, but regardless, I'm relatively happy with how this came out along with the amount I learned from working on this.

Seriously, I know.. that I fall into this trap a lot too, but a lot of aspiring manga artists want to make something perfect when they first come out with something and because of that they put off ever making anything at all-- saying, "I'll make it when I'm better"  But the thing is, if you don't work on it, you'll never get better. As cliche as it sounds, if you don't try and fail, you'll never learn.

For example... I think with this particular comic-- it was the first time coming up with something original that didn't have to do with OCT battles-- and I have to say it was really different. Let's go over some of the things I've learned from this.
Strengths this time around include:
:bulletgreen: This was the fastest I have ever been at doing a comic with a consistent quality throughout
:bulletgreen: Inking and toning had more contrast that usual, taking advantage of spot blacks and whites
:bulletgreen: I thought that my dynamics/angles/actions were a bit better than they were before

Weaknesses as usual to improve on:
:bulletred: Storytelling, storytelling, storytelling-- that is probably the most important to comic writing and probably my biggest weakness right now. I think it comes with the fact that all my comics I've shown so far have always been me trying to cram as much info as I can in a limited # of pages, but I should be able to tell a good story in a specified amount of pages if I wanted to
:bulletred: Backgrounds! Even though I think I put more bgs than I usually do, it's still painfully obvious that I don't put enough. Backgrounds are a major part of creating a setting of a story and is necessary. I should definitely work on that

I'll just list these for now ^^; I'm sure there's plenty more but it's always best to choose a few things to work on first. Hehe, on that note, I'm pretty happy w/ the preview image too. I might redraw that digitally later on instead of having it just be a pen sketch... but we'll see ^u^ in any case~ carry on!
